Safety Teams

Craft Fire and Rescue

We are a team of enthusiasts who enjoy our involvment in motorsport.

We have people from all stations in life, from engineers to students still in college with ages ranging from 16 to 80.

Working closely as a team, we must depend on each other as we are in a position of saving and preserving life.

Since we started, our aim has always been to have a unit to take from track to track. Ours is a specialty area and promoters find it a financial strain to supply and maintain equipment. We hope to give them the alternative of using our service assisting us to continue to grow and enjoy our sport.

Over the last two years it has become apparent that costs are making it continually difficult for clubs and teams to race and practice safely. We wish to offer a service through sponsorship and we hope to rely on donations to keep us viable for ongoing costs, uniforms and training.

During our time together we have achieved:

1. The upgrading of equipment at circuits

2. We are at Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway since inception and through BEG and BORROW started FIRE and RESCUE. We left in 1997-8 when circuit management was taken over by A.R.D.C. Now we operate some club events there as well as being involved again since the latter part of 2000.

3. Successfully organised, and co-operating with local involvement, developed Wakefield Park PARK at Goulburn.

4. Assisted with the running of the BOLD'OR at Catalina Park Raceway in Katoomba.

5. Worked with H.S.C.R.A.to set up and run GUYRA G.P.& NEW ENGLAND G.P. on a yearly basis

6. Participated with New South Wales Road Racing Club since our inception to help run race meetings and supersprints

7. Formed a club Supersprint Management team. At present we run events for:

8. Have achieved operating harmony with all Medical Services in N.S.W and A.CT.

9. Have affiliated with the Australian National Road Accident Rescue Association, for the continual feed of information which is important for training.

10. In 1999 we became involved in the running of the EAST COAST CLASSIC RALLY through the secondary sealed roads of the Central West of N.S.W.over 4 days.

11. Most important of all is our continued support of Oran Park Raceway and Wakefield Park as working bases for our teams and clubs for the future of motorsport in N.S.W. We will continue to give our time and skills to keep cars on the circuits. Our rewards are many, including being part of a team of officials in N.S.W.

We are now also working in the A.C.T at SUMMERNATS in conjunction with A.C.T Fire Brigade, looking after Perimiter fire in NATEX CENTRE as well as Event fire in the competition areas.

We also look after the Southern Districts Motorsport Assoc. at Fairbairn Park for their hillclimb events.

During the latter part of 2001 we also commenced working for Moto Concepts Australia at Corporate ride and drive days at Eastern Creek and Oran Park for Bikes and Cars.

Aims

To continue our affiliation with our clubs and circuits, hopefully growing and developing our reputation with many more clubs.

To be fully equipped and self sufficient with the following:

Through members generosity we have the facility to offer a Clerk of Course, Steward,Race Secretary, Scrutineer and Trackside Marshals. We are hoping to continue to grow through constant hard work and commitment.
